Their start mission required that they assassinate a US government official and so evade and escape via plans their superiors had arranged. Yet, it turns out they were set-up by their trainer and had to effigy information technology out for themselves. Their failure would issue in life sentences for murder if defenseless and the agency could not aid them. They eventually escaped and returned to the training eye for answers, here, the trainer tells them that the mission was a terminal exam and that they both passed, but now, their trust in their superiors was debatable.
Their existent start mission required them to travel to Turkey and Hungary to locate and free a high-level amanuensis who was captured ten days earlier. From that bespeak on, the story evolves into one hell of a tale with many twists and turns, dead-ends, double crossing agents and dead agents turning up along the way. This story is riveting with edge of your seat suspense. Jack and Bear can trust no one or find any support along the way. They were on their own and evidently set-up for failure - Individuals were expecting them to fall similar many of the other agents they've encountered and so far. For Newbies, they exceeded everyone's expectations, and what they stumbled upon at the end was a jaw dropping discovery for everybody.
Well done, Mr. Ryan. Looking frontward to your adjacent installment in the coming months.

My first concern was the series has already established Noble and Bears character and you really became involved in the series, so what else is at that place? I remember another author that I really like and he did the same thing, the book was titled the American Assassin. They even fabricated a pic of it(took 5 years to ma I am an avid fan of the Jack Noble series. When I read via Fifty.T. Ryan(writer) that he was going to write a book that was going to encompass the get-go of Nobles career, how he met Bear etc.
My first concern was the series has already established Noble and Bears character and y'all really became involved in the serial, so what else is at that place? I retrieve another writer that I actually like and he did the aforementioned thing, the book was titled the American Assassin. They even made a moving-picture show of it(took 5 years to make/release). The primary grapheme in that book is Mitch Rapp, like Jack Noble they trained Assassins. The book American Assassin did nada for me, information technology did not give me anymore insight on the characters. Information technology was the but book of Vince Flynn serial that I did non like and felt it wasted my time.
Getting dorsum to First Charade-I gave it five stars! I loved it considering the fashion information technology was written , the pace of the story line help developed who Jack and Bear were. The story did fill in more information on how the two became partners in the agency. The author only uses near 25% of the book to tell united states of america how these two came almost.
The rest of the book delved into new assignments, twists and turns with much humor and "kick butt" action.
Then I do recommend that if you are a fan of Jack Noble-You must read this, if you accept not read any of these books so this is perfect place to kickoff.

The First Deception invites us into the shadowy world of spies, lies, betrayal and double-crosses. It starts off a bit like American Assassinator of Mitch Rapp fame, where Carry and Noble are unwilling participants in a secret government training program. Mitch Rapp volunteered, whereas these two didn't. Although they did volunteer for Parris Isle & the Marines, so the law is in the gray surface area there. Probably legal though. The story shows the undefined relationship intelligence agencies have with the police, suggesting they are no more than puppets. Somewhat troubling. It is a good story, more than in the shadows than the light, but I feel it is missing an ingredient. Similar it is virtually there, just non quite. Well, this is book #ane, so I suspect L.T. Ryan volition become better with fourth dimension.

Would be a #1 Best Seller if author was confined to Amazon readers!! (NO Insult to Amazon or author intended!)I'm not saying this every bit an insult to Amazon or the author, equally I never would of been introduced to this fine author, if I wasn't a member of "Kindle Reader". I also read his EMP Series, extremely well written and realistic!! I simply read "The First Deception", the prequel to his Jack Noble series.. Existence such an gorging reader, I am very glad that I still accept several books to read. 🙄 Honestly, I found his books hard to set downwardly, I read into the wee hours of the night (lost some sleep..lol) and luckily was fifty-fifty able to read while a passenger, on a cross state trip! The benefits of a kindle volume, over a paperback.. you don't need a book light to read at nighttime while travelling!🖒 Probably my biggest compliment, other than beingness an excellent writer with knowledge of his subject, and an innate ability to nowadays his background and characters smoothly, is that his books very well "edited", not rushed, compared to a lot of books by digital writers!!
A must read by an fantabulous author.. I besides love that his books are longer, not deliberably dragged out, thus getting your moneys worth!! I call up a lot of authors who have sequels, deliberately shorten their books then they tin can make more money. I'chiliad sure a lot of readers would agree with my comment..
Again... A must read whether you lot have read books by this author or not!! Enjoy!!
This book, and the gratuitous prequel, did not practice much for me. Nothing here to keep me interested in this seriesThis book, and the free prequel, did not practise much for me. The lead character is just a smart mouth former jock who can fight and shoot well, while his partner is a big guy with some skills. The storyline was not all that interesting, permit solitary compelling. The basic theme was "trust no one" although the characters the writer spent a lot of fourth dimension trying to lead the reader to believe were non trustworthy mostly ended upward being okay. There is also a lot of fourth dimension spent describing scenery, with special emphasis on bad odors and the color orange, and movements. For a supposed spy novel in that location is very little intelligence piece of work going on; it's mostly just "follow that guy" stuff. The conclusion was non much of a surprise, with the bad guy being someone who was a minor character at various points in the story.
Also there was a very sloppy, and utterly needless, inconsistency between the prequel and the chief story. It pertains to cigarette smoking, of all things. It could have been hands avoided had the writer or editor actually re-read the before piece of work before finalizing the prequel, which was apparently written 5-half dozen years subsequently the main story.
I won't be moving forward with this serial.

Fast paced action returns as we visit the beginning of Jack and "Bear" entering into their new work situation now together. The book has two singled-out sections. Starting with their recruitment and preparation which presents a lot of grapheme development for our two "heroes" and they people they work with. Everyone demonstrates their capabilities and differences. And so there is the mission.Making their way through a mini mission and then onto the big time, Jack and Conduct take to overcome a lot of obstacles from the very start. This shows how resourceful they are. This is a must for survival in their line of work. No one is transparent on how much they exist be trusted or not; and to what depth.
...moreThis was a pretty heart opening prequel. Learning what Noble and Behave had to go through to go spies. So finding out that spies tell lies. They are in the field, paranoid, but ready for activeness. And, there is lots of action to become around. Loved this book.

A very intense spy thriller. Jack and Behave are sent on their first major rescue. Very entertaining and fast moving story loaded with activity and lots of misdirection keeping the reader alert and fond to the read. Great action and suspense. Fantastic introduction into a very addictive and entertaining adventure
This is a well-written thriller well-nigh how Jack Noble and his friend Bear got trained into a secret partition of CIA.......and what they went through was unbelievable. Amazingly they survived and were sent into their first case. You will hold your breath wondering if they tin solve the case they are in and near importantly, volition they survive????
From raw Marine recruits on opposite paths to Special Ops partners in training battling to stay alive to a killing pair of Assassins wending their mode through one deadly Middle E firefight after another to an Eastern European shootout...Gripping and Intriguing!
